Kxen.appinto Applications. Requires macOS 14 or later. - Windows: x64 / ARM64. The installer isn't Authenticode-signed yet — choose "More info -> Run anyway" if SmartScreen warns you.
- Linux x86_64: AppImage / deb.

Stable boundaries#
- Desktop platforms: macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), Windows (x64 and ARM64), Linux (x86_64 and ARM64). The kxen headless server covers the same six platforms.
- App shape: a Tauri 2 desktop app and the kxen headless server. The desktop webview and your browser are two equal clients of the same embedded service, talking over one
/wsendpoint — both get the full feature set. Beyond the headless server, kxen doesn't ship a separate CLI, TUI, or public HTTP API. - The Rust backend owns runtime state; the SolidJS frontend handles interaction and rendering.
- Every model call passes through one unified resource manager.
- Every high-risk tool call is approved or denied at the execution layer, consistently.
- Each Bot runs its own restricted self-builder conversation, its own immutable revision, permission snapshot, Run, and Recovery record — Bot-to-Bot collaboration never merges member permissions.
- File deletion goes to the trash, never straight to unrecoverable deletion.
